On Fighting Shadows

On Fighting Shadows is a narrative-focused, quasi-autobiographical JRPG that tells the story of Marvin, a teenager who faces daily obstacles that originate from his own being: conditions that are commonly referred to as “hidden disabilities”. Born with hydrocephalus, a brain condition that calls for the need to install a brain shunt, Marvin deals with physical limitations and unexpected events. The game mixes narrative-focused segments with classic JRPG mechanics. Marvin's struggles materialize in a fictional metaphor world where he faces demons, including his own. Around Marvin, a wide range of characters, real and imagined, aid and challenge him in his journey to recover from a shunt malfunction. 

I'm expecting the full game to be a 7-8 hour-ish experience. The main plot points have been planned out, and the prototype can be downloaded here. If you'd like to play it, I'd really appreciate any feedback you can give. If you're developing a game as well, I'd be happy to play your prototype in exchange. This prototype represents half of the first chapter (out of 5) of the game.
